Wendy Norton is new to Poston Butte, but not to the teaching profession. A native of Pennsylvania she brings with her 28 years of teaching experience. She has taught Biology for 28 years and Anatomy for 15 years, which are the two subjects that she will be teaching this school year. She holds a great deal of passion for these subjects, and her goal is to guide students towards an understanding of the material and instill a desire to learn more about science. Ms. Norton earned a BS degree from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and a MS degree from Wilkes University also located in Pennsylvania.
Wendy has two children. Her daughter Ashley is currently persuading a degree as a math teacher at Penn State University. Her son Andrew (Drew), is attending Gettysburg College and is working on a degree as a translator. When she is not in the classroom, Ms. Norton can be found tending her plants and garden. She also enjoys spending her leisure time reading, hiking and painting. Although she has migrated to Arizona, she still remains a huge Pittsburg Steelers fan and “Big Ben” is one of her favorite players. Hershey chocolate is a necessary staple in her diet although she finds prickly pear cactus jelly to be rather tasty. She loves to travel and her all-time favorite destination is Yellowstone National Park.
