I have been a teacher at Poston Butte for 2 years. I teach 9th-12th grade students in the Life Skills program The classes that I teach are Life Skills English, math, social studies and science/health and vocational skills.
I was born in Butte, Montana. I moved to Arizona when I was 8 and attended Arizona schools from the 3rd grade through college. I graduated in December of 2012 from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education. I am currently working on my masters degree.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for over 20 years and we have 3 handsome sons. My older sons are in college and my youngest son is a sophomore in high school. We love hanging out as a family playing games, watching movies and traveling.
When my youngest son started 1st grade, I got a job as a paraprofessional in a life skills classroom at an elementary school. I fell in love with teaching and knew that I wanted to become a teacher. With the support of my husband and sons, I went back to school and 8 years later I became a teacher. I am so excited to be your teacher. It is a life-long dream and I have to keep pinching myself to remind me that I am the teacher.
My goal is to help you be successful in this class and learn to enjoy reading and writing. Please don’t wait until the last minute. If you are having a hard time understanding something, see me early. I’m available before and after school every day, so feel free to stop by and see me. With your cooperation, Room C109 will be a place where we all learn something new everyday, including myself.
