Biography

Crystal Brown is a first year teacher and ESS Case Manager at Poston Butte.

She teaches co-taught 12th grade English and Social Strategies. 

You can find MRS. Brown in B110 during 1st, 3rd & 5th period. She will be in B108 during 2nd period and H119 during 6th period.

Mrs. Brown enjoys encouraging students and helping them meet their full potential in academics and in life. She graduated from Western Oregon University with a degree in 

Psychology and a Minor in Communications.


She has over 10 years of experience working with teenagers and families in the field of Social Services. 

She has helped teens not only overcome academic obstacles, but obstacles in their personal lives.

Mrs. Brown has always felt a strong desire to not just be an advocate for students, but to teach them to advocate for themselves. She loves working with students in the classroom and one on one. She holds each student accountable while striving to meet the needs of each student where they are at. She enjoys finding ways to engaged students in their own individual learning process. Mrs. Brown has a passion to see all students graduate from High School and become successful members in our society.


Additional Information
Mrs. Brown was born and raised in Salem Oregon and lived there most of her adult life.
recently she moved to San Tan Valley Arizona in April of 2016 with her husband and three children. Mrs. Brown has a 14 year old daughter, 12 year old daughter and an 8 year old son. She loves being a mom. When Mrs. Brown is not at school she enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves to bake with her children and explore Arizona with her family. Mrs. Brown loves baking and designing cakes, dabbles in digital photography and is musician. She has played trumpet for almost 25 years and loves to sing with her church worship band. In Mrs. Brown's home each family member plays an instrument. Needless to say the neighbors may get annoyed at times with hearing drums, trumpet, viola, french horn and piano at any given time. If Mrs. Brown wasn't a teacher her dream job would be to open a teen program for foster youth. She has always desired to help foster teens to have a safe place to live, grow, graduate high school and be  successful in life. Mrs. Brown loves being a teacher and is very excited about working with students at Poston Butte High School.
