Mr. Hastings is originally from a small town in northern Colorado. He joined the
Florence district after graduating from Arizona State University in 2005.  He enjoys traveling

Additional Information

French and German at PBHS are taught using the TPRS method: Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling.

Students learn their second language much the way they learned their first: by listening to and reading the language as much as possible.  Compared to traditional language teaching methods, TPRS employs less direct grammar instruction.  The focus is on providing comprehensible input, or language that the student can readily understand.

You can learn more about TPRS here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TPR_Storytelling .

Mr. Hastings will make himself available to meet with parents any time. Please call or email to set up a time to meet.  Thank you!
