Steve Tannenbaum

Hello, Poston Butte families. This is my third year of service in the Poston Butte community, and it is my hope to help develop our students academically, behaviorally, socially and emotionally as we prepare them for their next steps in life.

I was born in California, but my family relocated to Arizona when I was six years old. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and my Master’s degree in Education Leadership from Ottawa University. I had the great opportunity to teach a wide variety of subjects and grade levels during my teaching career. My passion for working with students also facilitated my love of coaching football and wrestling. I coached for the Mesa School District for fourteen years and was an Assistant Varsity football coach as well as the Head wrestling coach.

During my time as a teacher, I had the pleasure of teaching an outreach program for Arizona State University, called Future Sun Devil Families. This program allowed me to bridge the gap between high school students and parents, and helped them in analyzing their educational goals and admission procedures when entering into a college.

In my free time I love to travel and have visited Europe, Australia, and several islands in the Caribbean. I also enjoy hiking with my wife Morgan and my baby boy Colton.
