Curriculum & Instruction
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University in
Sacramento, California. While at CSUS I studied International Business and Spanish. After college
I returned to Arizona due to a unique teaching opportunity that presented itself with my former
high school Spanish teacher. I discovered a passion for education and teaching, and have been in
education ever since. I taught high school high school Spanish (including Advanced Placement) for
eleven years, and have taught at the community college level as well. I have worked in the Florence
Unified School District for the past eight years, and over the last few, have transitioned into
administration. I am very excited to be the Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at
Poston Butte, and to help students meet their educational goals as they prepare for life after high school.
I have traveled throughout Mexico and Costa Rica and enjoy hiking. I especially enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. Both of my children (one in college and the other in junior high) have helped me to maintain perspective when it comes to the diverse learning needs of students. They have inspired me to continually work to make sure that all students obtain the education they need and deserve in order to reach their full potential.
